Welcome to IT7303: Data Privacy Technologies course.
My name is Seyedamin Pouriyeh, in short Amin, an Assistant Professor of Information Technology at Kennesaw State University (KSU). I received a M.Sc. in Information Technology Engineering and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Shiraz University and the University of Georgia (UGA) respectively in 2009 and 2018. I started my career as a full-time lecturer at UGA in August 2018 and then joined KSU in January 2019. My primary research interests span machine learning and cybersecurity.
This course will cover the applied techniques and technologies to preserve and protect data privacy. Topics include but are not limited to privacy definition, privacy regulation and laws, anonymous communication, database and file privacy, privacy in IoT systems, privacy-preserving technologies, location privacy, privacy evaluation, digital identity protection, and privacy, digital surveillance, and current and advanced privacy techniques.
Online students should log into the course in D2L within the first week of the class begin to confirm their attendance. There is no attendance monitoring, but your timely submission of assignments and labs, and quizzes will be counted towards your presence and continued interest in the course.
